Race Day at VIR

The Championship Cup Motorcycle Racing Series at Virginia International Raceway, a sportsman level event, once again proved to be an event to experience. At one point during a endurance team race the whole track was forced to pit. The teams quickly performed any maintenance and put on the tire warmers. I was able to focus on the machines and come home with several images that I have enjoyed recreating in my illustrative style. The machines sometimes show their age and scuff marks.

I am working on a series of four illustrations, all form the same perspective. the digital illustrations are 25”x15: at 360 dpi and make really fantastic prints.

So i have decided to do some more work on this series. I like adding the environment to the illustration. I think that is adds to the story and feel of the artwork. I need to continue to develop

1955 BMW R67/3 Black and Chrome

This digital illustration is of a 1955 BMW R67/3. This beautiful machine was restored by Moto Europa and is owned by David Carmean. I had the privilege of photographing this bike at a local bike night. The illustration from the photograph took about 2 weeks to complete. I used Adobe Sketch on an Apple iPad Pro. The final image is 21”x15” at 360 dpi. Prints are available.
